Animal Welfare Policy

Respecting Wildlife. Ensuring Wellbeing.
At Tubing Chiang Mai, we believe wildlife has the right to live naturally and peacefully. While animal interactions are often a memorable part of travel, we’re committed to ensuring all activities involving animals meet the highest standards of animal welfare.

We strongly advocate for responsible tourism and ensure that the elephants you meet with us are treated ethically, compassionately, and respectfully.

We never engage in or support practices that involve cruelty or mistreatment of animals.

Always remember:

Wild animals deserve a wild life. Any encounter with wildlife should prioritize their natural behaviors, dignity, and wellbeing. Ethical animal tourism always respects the animals' needs above all else.

Your participation helps us promote animal welfare, ethical travel, and the responsible care of Thailand’s magnificent wildlife.

What you should do while travelling:

  • Observe wild animals respectfully from a safe and comfortable distance, allowing them to behave naturally.

  • Visit genuine sanctuaries and ethical conservation centers that focus on animal wellbeing.

  • Only interact with domesticated animals (like horses, donkeys, or camels) if they appear healthy, well-treated, and cared for properly.

  • Respect natural habitats, avoid leaving litter behind, and cause minimal disturbance to wildlife environments.

What you should NOT do while travelling:

  • Never handle, touch, or closely approach wild animals, even if they appear tame or captive.

  • Don’t feed wild animals, as it can harm their natural behaviors and health.

  • Avoid animal activities that exploit wildlife, such as performances, elephant riding, snake charming, or animal selfies.

  • Never support cruel or unethical animal activities, including bullfighting, crocodile wrestling, or bear baiting.

  • Don’t buy products derived from endangered species or involving animal cruelty, such as civet coffee, snake wine, or animal-based souvenirs.
